This film is the most comprehensive I've seen to date about early German electronic music. It meanders a little, but mostly it's a fascinating journey into the 60's-80's sound that Kraftwerk pioneered. I was less interested in the so called "Krautrock" (although the influence that many of these artists had in shaping Kraftwerk is clearly factual). I would have liked to see that in an entirely different documentary. In particular it would be nice to have more material on other bands such as Neu!, (K)Cluster, and Harmonia as a comparison to Ralf and Florian, etc. There is a similarity yet the style and sounds of these groups is very different. I guess the filmmakers didn't want to detract from Kraftwerk too heavily. This movie is long -it's three hours- so be prepared to cover a lot of ground.
